Welcome!
We want to make sure you have a wonderful time here at the shore!
The main event of the wedding weekend is, of course, the actual ceremony and following celebration but we can recommend some cool things to do and see if you are unsure of what to do in a place you never have been. Think of it as planning a short weekend getaway for a large group of friends.
You may have flown or driven some distance so let’s keep it simple, creative but enjoyable.
Our wedding weekend suggestions begin on Friday afternoon when you arrive and take you right to brunch on Sunday. Let the fun begin at one of the premier locations in the area!
Friday afternoon: A must for early arriving guests, stop by for cocktails and hors d'oeuvre on the beautiful outdoor veranda of the Breakers Hotel overlooking the beautiful Spring Lake beach and ocean.
Friday evening: Consult your favorite transportation app for a quick trip to the night life hub of the Shore, Asbury Park. We know you'll love these choices!
Because there is no party like a Porta party. Enjoy the delicious food and drink and a festive atmosphere. Sure to kickoff the celebrating in style!
Or try Stella Marina
Located on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, Stella Marina specializes in rustic yet classic Italian cuisine. We recommend the fettuccini bolognese although you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
After dinner: Visit near-by Little Buddy’s Hideaway or the Asbury Park Distillery for a post-dinner signature cocktail. Both will guarantee a unique and fun experience not to be missed.
Saturday morning: Begin the day with yoga at the Power Within Healing Space in Belmar or a massage at the Avon Massage and Wellness Center. Now you have earned breakfast at The Buttered Biscuit in Bradley Beach. You can’t go wrong.
Next, take the Swan Pedal Boats on Lake Avenue in Asbury Park for a trip around Wesley Lake with a view of historic Ocean Grove. Walk across the bridge for an up-close peek at the famous tents in beach cruiser rented from Ace Hardware on Main Street. Bike ride along the ocean for the experience natives and visitors alike find breathtaking and beautiful.
Another great idea! Spend your leisure time with a visit to nearby Manasquan, where you can stroll and shop-- we love Findings for its unique chic jewelry. And, make sure to stop in at Main Street Gallery to see exquisitely framed very special art by area artists. After shopping, relax with a casual lunch at The Committed Pig or The Salty Whale down the road.
Saturday afternoon: It’s time to head back to the hotel or inn to rest and prepare for the wedding celebration and a chance to mingle with your new-found friends at the at the party that follows.
Sunday: Time to gather and recall the events of the prior evening and bid farewell to friends and family. But first, you may want to visit Café on Third for a great breakfast in Spring Lake.
Or, if you’re looking for quaint and charming, try Maeberrie Market for a truly memorable breakfast - take a seat at the counter for coffee and homemade pastries and croissants. It's all very French!
If you prefer a leisurely brunch, try Charlie's of Bay Head. The menu is full of delicious choices and the view is fantastic. After brunch, visit the nearby shops and treat yourself to a memento of your visit.
If you choose not to dine and shop today, get yourself to one of our spectacular area beaches and spend a relaxing few hours in the sun and have a swim in the Atlantic. Beach badges for day visitors are available on most of our area boardwalks.
Hope you enjoy every minute of your visit! Be sure to check in with theshorebook.com and our social media for our events calendar and many updates and additions to come!
